They say you will ...

They say you will never be lonely
from the start of each day to its end
if you walk life's pathway
with love in your heart,
and side by side with a friend.

I bargained with Life for a penny

I bargained with Life for a penny,
and Life would pay no more,
however I begged at evening
when I counted my scanty store.

For Life is a just employer,
he gives you what you ask,
but once you have set the wages,
why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial's hire,
only to learn, dismayed,
that any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid.

I asked for ...

I asked for STRENGTH ...
and God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for WISDOM ...
and God gave me Problems to solve.
I asked for PROSPERITY ...
and God gave me Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked for COURAGE ...
and God gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked for LOVE ...
and God gave me Troubled people to help.
I asked for FAVORS ...
and God gave me Opportunities.
I received NOTHING I asked for,
but EVERYTHING I needed.

I carry your heart with me (I carry it in)

I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in my heart).

I am never without it
(anywhere I go you go, my dear;

and whatever is done by only me
is your doing, my darling).

I fear no fate
(for you are my fate, my sweet).

I want no world
(for beautiful you are my world, my true)

and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you.

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than soul can hope
or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder
that's keeping the stars apart,

I carry your heart
(I carry it in my heart).

Music was my ...

Music was my first love
and it will be my last,
music of the future
and music of the past.
To live without my music
would be impossible to do.
In this world of troubles
my music pulls me through.

Sometimes I wish to be small

Sometimes I wish to be small,
small like a flower,
carrying freedom within.
Sometimes I wish to be small,
small like a child,
who never forgot how to play.
Sometimes I wish to be small,
small like a leaf,
joyfully dancing in the wind.
Sometimes I wish to be small,
small like a water droplet,
reflecting the sunlight.
Sometimes I wish to be small,
so that the little things in life
make sense again.
Sometimes I wish to be small.
Sometimes ...

Thougts for a cold day

A little bit of blowing,
a little bit of snow,
a little bit of growing,
and crocuses will show;
On every twig that's lonely
a new green leaf will spring;
on every patient tree-top
a trush will stop and sing.

From home to ...

*
FROM
home
TO home
AND
heart to heart
FROM ONE PLACE
TO ANOTHER
THE warmth AND joy OF
CHRISTMAS
BRINGS
US
closer
TO EACH OTHER

Betty at the party

"When I was at the party,"
said Betty, aged just four,
"a little girl fell off her chair
right down upon the floor;
and all the other little girls
began to laugh, but me -
I didn't laugh a single bit,"
said Betty seriously.

"Why not?" her mother asked her,
full of delight to find
that Betty - bless her little heart! -
had been so sweetly kind.
"Why didn't you laugh, my darling?
Or don't you like to tell?"
"I didn't laugh," said Betty,
"'cause it was me that fell."

I sat in the grass in the morning sun

I sat in the grass in the morning sun
and the wind he sat on the tree
and the little pink flowers they all began
to smile at me!

Jack Frost

The door was shut, as doors should be,
before you went to bed last night;
but Jack Frost has got in, you see,
and left your window silver white.

He must have waited till you slept;
and not a single word he spoke,
but pencilled o'er the panes and crept
away again before you woke.

And now you cannot see the hills
nor fields that stretch beyond the lane,
but there are fairer things than these
his fingers traced on every pane.

Rocks and castles towering high;
hills and dales and streams and fields;
and knights in armour riding by,
with nodding plumes and shining shields.

And here are little boats, and there
big ships with sails spread to the breeze;
and yonder, palm trees waving fair
on islands set in silver seas.

And butterflies with gauzy wings;
and herds of cows and flocks of sheep
and fruit and flowers and all the things
you see when you are sound asleep.

For creeping softly underneath
the door, when all the ligths are out,
Jack Frost takes every breath you breathe
and knows the things you think about.

He paints them on the window pane,
in fairy lines with frozen steam;
and when you wake you see again
the lovely things you saw in dream.

Leisure

What is this life, full of care,
we have no time to stand and stare?

No time to stand beneath the boughs
and stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
and watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if, full of care,
we have no time to stand and stare.

I am a Dreamer

I am a dreamer –
someone, who sees the golden morning sun
in the pouring rain,
someone, who sings about hope,
when everyone else is drowning in the sea of sadness,
someone, who believes in love,
when he is standing in front of the gate of hell,
someone, who sees the colorful flowers,
when the valley of darkness rules over the world,
someone, who believes in peace,
when the grenades hit next to him,
someone, who has hopes of rescue,
when the ship is already sunk,
someone, who believes in god,
when even the peace doves bath in sin –
I am a dreamer!

Footprints (english Version)

An old an tired man looks back
his hardly way of life along.
And he see two sets of footprints
all the way that he was gone.

But on some parts of this way
there's just one set in the sand
and he feels a big confusion
for he can not understand.

And in total depiration
he shouts for God to hear his words
and he say that there's deep sorrow
and frustration deeply hurts!

"You have promised me", he said
"that you'll be always on my side,
that ev'ry way I have to go to
you will be my leading guide!

But where is your set of footprints
in the times I need you most?
In the times of biggest troubles
I don't even see your ghost!"

And the Lord says "Hear my son!
When you felt so hardly blue
when your troubles were the deepest
it was me I carried you!"
